Why patients travel to see Dr. Shruthi Neela
Hyderabad has become a destination for specialised breast surgery because very few cities in India have surgeons dedicated exclusively to breast oncoplastic surgery. Dr. Shruthi Neela is one of only a handful of breast surgical oncologists in Hyderabad who performs the full range of breast conservation, oncoplastic surgery, and complex reconstruction including chest wall perforator flaps.
Patients come from other Indian cities — Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Visakhapatnam — and from countries including the UK, USA, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. The process for out-of-city and international patients is straightforward, and Dr. Shruthi's team is experienced in helping coordinate visits.
How to begin — step by step
Send your reports in advance
WhatsApp or email your existing imaging, biopsy reports, and any prior surgical notes to the clinic before your visit. This allows Dr. Shruthi to review your case and give you a more productive first consultation.
Book a remote or in-person consultation
A remote teleconsultation can be arranged before you travel so you can discuss your situation, ask questions, and understand what the in-person visit will involve. This helps you plan your trip efficiently.
Plan your trip to HITEC City
Sindhu Hospitals is in HITEC City, Hyderabad's IT corridor, well connected by road and close to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (around 25–30 minutes by cab). The area has a wide range of hotels and service apartments at different price points within 2–5 km of the hospital.
Attend your consultation and plan surgery
Most patients need at least one in-person consultation before surgery is scheduled. After examination, Dr. Shruthi will explain the planned procedure, the expected hospital stay, and the recovery timeline so you can plan your stay in Hyderabad accordingly.
Post-operative follow-up
Follow-up after discharge can be managed partly remotely for patients who cannot stay in Hyderabad long term. Wound checks, drain removal (if applicable), and review of histology results can be discussed via teleconsultation in between in-person visits.
Sharing reports with the clinic
You can send reports in advance via WhatsApp (+91 70210 92230) or email (drshruthi.n@sindhuhospitals.com). Accepted formats include PDF scans, JPEG images, and DICOM files for imaging. For large imaging files, a file-sharing link works well. The team will acknowledge receipt and confirm the appointment once reports have been reviewed.
- Mammogram and ultrasound reports with images where possible
- Biopsy / histopathology reports
- MRI breast reports and images
- Previous surgical notes or discharge summaries
- Any genetic test results (BRCA or other panel testing)
- Current medication list
Languages spoken
Dr. Shruthi Neela sees patients in English, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, and Marathi. Patients whose primary language is one of these should feel comfortable communicating directly during the consultation without a translator.
